Minister Blok has written to the government that current British students in the Netherlands, in case of a no-deal scenario on March 30th, will keep the right to study financing. Additionally, they won’t have to pay more than the regular tuition fee. They will have to meet all other requirements for EU citizens.

British students coming to the Netherlands after Brexit will, in case of a no-deal Brexit, be seen as citizens from outside the European Economic Area. Like for example Chinese students, they will then need to pay the higher tuition fees, and will not receive study financing.

On January 15, the British parliament will vote on prime minister Theresa May’s Brexit plans. The vote was originally scheduled for December, but was postponed because May feared she had insufficient support for her plans.
