Sustasty Foodtrucks at city center’s University Library for the first time

Sustasty is a well-known phenomenon at the Uithof by now, but as the Uithof is also host to the Foodnote Festival this year, Sustasty decided to move its activities to the city center. “We get a lot of feedback from students and employees, asking whether the Green Office can organize an event in the city center sometime,” a spokesperson for the Green Office says. “So this year, we’re coming to them.”

At first, the Green Office considered joining the Foodnote Festival, but when it was announced that the Foodnote Festival was going to host food trucks that sell meat, plans were changed. “Sustasty serves everything but meat. Because of the sustainability aspects, vegan and vegetarian foods are the core of our event.”

During Sustasty, you can buy lunch – from sea weed burgers to French fries – but there’s also organic ice cream and vegan cookies. The Green Office is organizing several workshops and debates, and will have two documentary showings. Find out more about the Sustasty program here.
