NWO raises amount of Veni and Vidi grants

Academia has been asking for research grants to be raised for quite some time as they were getting less and less cost-effective, especially since university salaries increased by 9 percent in August. NWO acknowledged the problem and is now providing more money from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.

The Veni grant will increase from a maximum of 280,000 to a maximum of 320,000 euros. As for the Vidi grant, it will go from 800,000 to 850,000 euros. According to NWO, the need to raise the Vici grant is less urgent, so the maximum amount remains at 1.5 million euros.
