Many students unaware of meeting point De Vagant

A place where students can hang out or share a meal, where all sorts of creative activities are organised. That's the purpose De Vagant is supposed to serve at Utrecht Science Park. DUB's cameraman Joppe van Gent visited the space, which is right opposite the Koningsberger building, and asked students on campus if they'd heard about it.

De Vagant was inaugurated last September. It is a place where students from Utrecht University can hang out. The university promised that the meeting spot will remain on campus for at least four years. The space aims to answer students' calls for a cosy place to get together at Utrecht Science Park, something they missed in the aftermath of the pandemic.  

However, many students are still unaware that this spot exists. During a debate about democracy at the university, organised during the occupation of the city centre library, students asked the Executive Board to provide them with a place to hang out. "But there is De Vagant," replied UU President Anton Pijpers. The students didn't seem to be familiar with it.
